Here's to Balancing Your Qi. And Your Sanity.

Welcome to Māma Qi, where ancient women’s wellness wisdom meets modern chaos — served with a wink, a cup of tea, and a gentle reminder to look after yourself.

Meet Māma Qi

Born from the Golden Month. Made for real life.

Mama Qi began with one exhausted new mum, one very wise (and occasionally terrifying) Chinese ma-ma, and one simple truth: women deserve better care — at every stage of life.

After giving birth, I stepped into the world of the “Golden Month,” a traditional Chinese postpartum practice where mothers are nourished, warmed, fed, and protected so their bodies can truly heal. I drank the teas, ate the soups, followed the rituals — and felt the transformation. Not overnight, but deeply.

This wasn’t wellness fluff.

This was ancestral wisdom — designed by women, for women — to rebuild strength, restore balance, and protect long-term health.

But most Western women don’t have access to this kind of support. No one is dropping off herbal teas, reminding them to rest, or teaching them how to rebuild their Qi. Certainly no one is packaging it with humour or empathy.

So Mama Qi became the “village in a box.”

A way to bring ancient wellness traditions into modern womanhood — postpartum, perimenopause, menopause, and all the hormonal chaos in between.

With nourishing blends, thoughtful hampers, and a cheeky voice that tells the truth (because not everything is “zen”), Mama Qi helps women feel cared for, understood, and balanced.

Less ommm. More “okay, I’ve got this.”
